The Holy Spirit Asked Me, Are You a Christian?

It was about fifteen years ago on a Sunday morning…during praise and worship. I was fairly new to the Spirit-filled life and did not quite know what was happening to me. I was minding my own business, just praising the Lord when someone says to me, “What is a Christian?” I looked around to see who it was that spoke to me. Everyone around me was doing their own thing and paying absolutely no attention to me. I got back into praise and heard again, “What is a Christian?” finally realizing Holy Spirit was speaking to me, I answered (underneath my breath) A Christian is someone who is Christ-like. I was so proud because I actually knew the answer to God”s question. As I was gloating in my pride I hear that voice again…”What was Christ like?” “Well” I said, “He preached the gospel everywhere He went; He healed the sick; He raised the dead; and cast out demons; things like that.” the next thing I heard almost made me weep…” Are you a Christian or are you just saved?”

Whoa…I was speechless. What do you say to something like that? All I could say was Lord help me to be Christ-like. I have to tell you this has helped me tremendously in my walk with God. When I pray for people to be healed or it happens for them…Is it because of me or my faith…partly? It is because of obedience coupled with faith. I tell you that God is not a respecter of persons and what He will do for one He will do for another. Any believer in Christ has the ability to lay hands on someone and see results because it is not me or them doing the healing but God. There is nothing more exciting than witnessing God at work. If you search the scriptures you will find where the apostle Paul talks about raising the dead and calls this the elementary thing of God. Ouch! I thought I was about ready to graduate and come to find out I have not even got in to kinder-garden…that hurts.

You know, I never gave any thought to being a prophet until someone told me all the things I had been hearing and seeing was because I was one. I have many received many revelations from God; some personal to me and others for others near by. I have had prophecy for people on the other side of the world and have never figured of why God choose me but I am honored He did. I will be sharing more words later. God bless.
