There are five habits of great leaders:
Visualisation of goals: make the time morning and night to visualise where you want to be, feel it, be it, live it. You must maintain vision because when you lose it you become ineffective. Act as if you are already in possession of the ‘things’ you are demanding. Visualise what it feels like to have your desired goals, and live it. You must live as if you already own it.
Income producing activity: have you completed and or achieved something today which will bring you closer to realising your desired goals? Know that you have the ability to achieve the object of your desires. Be persistent and disciplined, plan your work diligently and work your plan. If you are not disciplined, it simply will not work. Discipline leads to wisdom, understanding and for many a new way of life. If you want something you have never had before, you need to do something you have never done before and that takes discipline. Have a list of tasks you want to complete, when you achieve these goals celebrate them no matter how small, the smaller ones gradually turn into bigger celebrations.
Self development: take the time to read, research and learn something today that will make you a better person and business leader. Become an expert in your field, but don’t just amass knowledge, implement it daily. Develop your strengths and identify your weaknesses, be aware of how they effect your life and recognise the barriers these behaviours put in front of you and prevent you from reaching your goals. The way of success is the continued pursuit and application of knowledge.
Mix with masterminds: surround yourself with like minded people who are successful. You become who you associate with. seek out the leaders in your selected/desired field and study them intently. What are their qualities, skills and practices? What is their mindset and daily methods of operation? Mimic them. Ask questions, the quality of the question effects the quality of the answer, so make your questions count.
Cultivate the expectation of leadership in yourself and others: self leadership cultivates success in all areas of your life and business. When you commit to self leadership you are opening yourself to growth, you challenge beliefs, your thoughts change, your actions change and he your life changes. The commitment to leadership is about conquering yourself and the effective ability to do so and to help others achieve the same.
After consistently putting into practice the five habits of leadership, it becomes a habit, a necessary part of your day. Start implementing the five habits into your life and make the commitment to the development and growth of yourself and your business. The process is simple, it is a discipline to commit to the teachings, ideas and beliefs and expose yourself to all that is offered. Look within, own it, hone it and watch what happens, it just won’t make a difference, it will make THE difference.
Enjoy the journey
