The first step to making achieving your goals more possible is to take that amazing vision and cleverly downsize it to smaller more achievable goals. You can break this down by asking yourself questions like “What are the steps I need to take to attain my desired goals?” Get really specific with this. Our mind processes information in 7 chunks plus or minus two so I recommend developing that many smaller steps. If these smaller goals are still too big and vague so make it easy for yourself and chunk it down again. The more specific you get, the better the outcome for you as you will know exactly what you need to do.
Now you will have numerous achievable goals and things are starting to look good. Well, I urge you to take it to another level right now by following this second step. With each of these goals, I want you to create daily actions. Creating and implementing these has many benefits. One of these includes that it will keep you focused on what you want and as we know, what we focus on is what we get. It will also create momentum towards your goal and lastly by achieving these daily actions, you will gain a sense of achievement and moving forward. These are all key to achieving your desired dream.
The last yet most important step to goal setting and achievement is persistence. Anthony Robbins wrote in his book, Awaken the Giant Within, that “persistence overshadows even talent as the most valued and effective resource in creating and shaping of quality of life.” The daily actions are an easy way for you to persist towards your goals. So implement them with volition and DON’T GIVE UP because if you do, you will never know if your next try was your success. Be the person that sees it through to the end, to your success.
By adding these three extra steps to your goal setting, you are more likely to reap the rewards of your success and the life that you want. The added benefit is that you will notice how easy it is to achieve your dreams and therefore set bigger and better goals for yourself.
