Life with Woody” 10 Inspirational Quotes That Can Improve Yourself

A hot cup of latte, a nice bottle of ice-cold beer, or a shot of a good booze, these are the usual treats that caps off a very stressful day. I myself is guilty of this crime. How can you resist the old “let’s grab a bottle” invitation? Although your colleague mentioned “a” bottle, you usually end up having 4 or 5. The perfect concoction for a disaster.

Just don’t ask how it happened, please.

What really makes me wonder is how people successfully go through their usual routine despite a mind-boggling stress. Yes, we are equipped with the Buddhist breathing techniques that works effectively. Yoga and Zen are the current trends for de-stressing but how about the intellectual side of people? What would be the tool that may aid people to overcome a hard day with just their minds? This brings me to thinking the power behind “mind over matter”

Laughter would be the most affordable and best medicine that is available for everyone. A simple joke from a friend is a good boost, much more if you visit your comedy bar and pay for a one heck of a laugh. Physically, laughter benefits you in a way that it eases the tension in your muscles and improves your circulation. Obviously, it is much better to inject humor when you have a problem, rather than sulk with a debilitating anger. I would like to thank Woody Allen, who is my all-time favorite celebrity. I just admire his classic bluntness that he pulls out with out having to try so hard. It seems like Woody always has a good comeback for any subject (may it be good or bad). He has the power to make people laugh rather than be upset.

These are my picks from his line of lines:

1. “Money is better than poverty, if only for financial reasons.” – Money does buy a lot of things but, as what a rap song says “Mo money, mo problems”.

2. “I believe there is something out there watching us. Unfortunately, it’s the government.” – I just wish we have a way to watch the white house too.

3. “There are worse things in life than death. Have you ever spent an evening with an insurance salesman?” This line would be my favorite. It captured the the issue of how little problems in life are not bad at all, until this man shows up.

Sure, relationships can get complicated, or does have its complications that probably any author about relationships is bound to discover it soon. We follow what our heart desires, unless you’re talking about the heart as in the heart that pump blood throughout your body.

4. “Love is the answer, but while you’re waiting for the answer, sex raises some pretty interesting questions.” For $300, what’s the second question?

5. “A fast word about oral contraception. I asked a girl to go to bed with me, she said ‘no’.” – It’s free and very practical.

And when it comes to everyday life, he really knows how to make the best out of every possible scenario, and it doesn’t involve a lawsuit if he strikes a nerve.

6. “Basically my wife was immature. I’d be at home in the bath and she’d come in and sink my boats.” Boat and bath doesn’t do it for me. The idea makes me seasick

7. “I am not afraid of death, I just don’t want to be there when it happens.” If it rains, it pours.

8. “I am thankful for laughter, except when milk comes out of my nose.” It could get worse when you’re guzzling on beer or mouthwash, and it happened to me once!

9. “If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans.” I would love to hear a godly laugh.

And despite of what may happen to all of us in the next ten, twenty, or even thirty years, I guess we all have to see things in a different kind of light and not just perspective. I can’t seem to imagine life without any piece of wisdom that could guide us. Whether we’re religious or not, it takes more courage to accept your fears and learn how to deal with them is all that matters when it comes to even just getting along.

Let me summarize this article with another wisdom from Mr. Allen:

10. “The talent for being happy is appreciating and liking what you have, instead of what you don’t have.”

Adios!
