Many more individuals are susceptible to covert hypnosis, as they cannot fight it since they do not know that hey are being hypnotized. Generally you need to be friendly and strike up a conversation in which you can have direct eye contact.

It is also possible to hypnotize yourself and this is much like conscious hypnosis. You bring yourself into a relaxed state. The most popular way to perform self-hypnosis is by walking down a staircase in your mind and when you open the door you are in an entirely different place. Then when you are ready you walk back up the stairs to reality.
